One of the challenges in the Monte Carlo rally is to pick the right set of tyres since the conditions are quite variable.
The conditions typically comprise of dry tarmac, wet tarmac, snow, and ice, sometimes all in a single stage so the driver has to balance the need for grip on ice and snow with the need for grip on dry tarmac. Sunday’s final day sees possibly the most famous rally stage in the world over the Col de Turini, which normally has ice and/or snow on sections of it at this time of the year.
