VLAARDINGEN – Dutch racing driver Carlo van Dam has joined the Subaru works team for this year’s Nurburgring 24 Hours. The Japanese car manufacturer first tested its new Impreza WRX STI earlier this week in Japan. The Impreza will race this May in the 2-litre turbo-class of the renowned endurance event at the over 20 kilometres long Nordschleife.

White Subaru

If you live in the UK, round four of the Scooby Sprint Championship is happening at Northamptonshire’s Santa Pod raceway on Sunday September 23rd. Anyone can go, you just need to bring your Subaru and a helmet to participate in this race against the clock.

At the NOPI season opener this past weekend in Phoenix, AZ our Pro Class Subaru competed against 2 other major manufacturers in the finals and came out on top. We Qualified in 1st place and ran strong all the way to the finish!

The streets of Long Beach will see the Subaru Impreza WRX STI on April 7, 2006, and no not just cruising the Long Beach streets but running at top speed on the straights, not far from the Queen Mary, taking tight corners and a hairpin as Gary Sheehan races around attempting to place ESX Motorsports’ debut in the SCCA SPEED World Challenge on the podium.

“The ‘world’s fastest Maori’ Marty Roestenburg is targeting a place on the podium and the fastest Kiwi driver title at the 2006 Silverstone Race to the Sky in his powerful H6 Subaru Impreza WRX.

Roestenburg put the car, developed by David and Linda Loughlin of Tauranga, through its paces for the first time last year taking out fifth place overall.

He was disappointed with the result but this year is confident of improving his position in the Subaru, which is powered by a twin turbo charged 3.0litre, six cylinder Legacy engine, and produces 6-650 horsepower.”

“Last year I made a couple of serious cornering mistakes which cost me a lot of time. I am determined that won’t happen this year. We have also made some improvements to the car which is now lighter, stronger and faster.”

Team Subaru drivers Dave Rosenblum and Kristian Skavnes finished first and second after dicing with strong competition in the form of BMW M3s and Dodge SRT-4s. Fresh from their 1st and 2nd place finishes in Sebring the week before, the Subaru Club Racing Team headed into Homestead-Miami Speedway wary of an all-new infield configuration for the race. The team started with a blank slate, as none of the SCCA Club Racing competitors knew what to expect in terms of lap times and car setup.

One more win for the Subaru WRX STI!
